National Clearinghouses
Effective implementation of the Directive is dependent on a sound system of National Registers for monitoring the sales of new products and collected waste. National Clearinghouses, operated by industry under a Government mandate, should run the National Registers and provide the common logistical interface between the public collection centres for WEEE and industry.
